Maia Friedman (Dirty Projectors) announces new solo album, shares new single and tour dates
Singer-songwriter and Dirty Projectors member, Maia Friedman, has just announced the release date for her next upcoming solo album, Goodbye Long Winter Shadow. Arriving three years after her last LP, Under the New Light, the songwriter's new album, due for release on May 9th via Last Gang Records, continues diving deeper into spatial, lush, and minimalistic soundscapes that are both evocative and intimate.
The second single from the project, "New Flowers", was released alongside the album announcement. You can watch the video for it here:
In addition, Friedman has set a series of tour dates scheduled before the album's drop, and will be touring with special guest, Canadian singer-songwriter Basia Bulat. The smaller settings on the tour will give fans to hear the album before it's publicly out.
